BancNet recently signed an agreement with Don Bosco-One TVET Network to be the
latter’s partner in empowering Filipino youth through vocational and technical skills
training. Under this partnership, BancNet will provide 35 scholarship grants to qualified
students of Don Bosco-One TVET Network across the country. This is in
commemoration of BancNet’s 35 th anniversary this year and in line with the company’s
commitment to help provide access to quality education, especially to the financially
disadvantaged.
The Don Bosco-One TVET Network offers quality vocational and technical education
and training to underprivileged youth to equip them with the competencies and
certifications needed for gainful employment and entrepreneurship within a shorter
period compared to college courses. These technical and vocational courses, including
Electrical, Mechanical, Welding, Automotive, Computer, and Electronic, are accredited
by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The scholarship
grant covers the tuition fees and other benefits of the trainees for the duration of the
course, which is typically 15 months. The trainees will come from different Don Bosco-
One TVET Centers in various parts of the country.
BancNet CEO Emmie Reyes said, “We are happy to partner with Don Bosco-One TVET
in providing opportunities for underprivileged young Filipinos to acquire the skills that
will make them productive members of their families and the community. Our country
needs these skilled workers at this stage of its development, especially as they are
honed as well in Bosconian values and work ethics. “
BancNet also supports scholars in Information Technology at Don Bosco Technical
College and soon, at the Technological Institute of the Philippines.
