BancNet enables online payment of business name registration

BancNet, the country’s leading electronic payment network, has began processing online payments of fees for the registration of business names with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

The DTI recently launched its electronic payment facility for business name registration in partnership with BancNet, Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), Landbank of the Philippines and Globe Exchange Inc. With this facility, sole proprietors can register their business names and renew their registration without going to the DTI offices. Applicants may submit their application and pay the applicable fees online anytime and anywhere through their computers or mobile phones by simply logging on to www.bnrs.dti.gov.ph or www.dti.gov.ph.

For payment through BancNet, the DTI business name registration system (BNRS) will redirect the applicant to the BancNet Online payment page where he can choose his bank. Thirty-three participating BancNet member-banks are offering this online payment facility.

At the e-payment facility’s launch, Trade Undersecretary Nora K. Terrado said the end-to-end online registration and payment, including the downloading and printing of business name certificate, takes less than 15 minutes. Two entrepreneurs proved this during the live demonstration at the DTI office in Makati City.

Trade Secretary Gregory L. Domingo said, “The e-payment facility for business name registration is one of the projects that the DTI is implementing to simplify the process of dealing with the government as entrepreneurs start and run their businesses.

The BNRS payment facility is just one of BancNet’s electronic payment facilities for various government entities. BancNet has a solid track record as a payment gateway for Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), Philhealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, Bureau of Customs, National Telecommunications Commission and Sugar Regulatory Administration. BancNet is the exclusive payment gateway for the Philippine National Single Window and the only electronic payment consortium facility accredited by the BIR and SSS. The latest facility for DTI is in line with BancNet’s thrust of providing the clients and ATM cardholders of its member-banks a more convenient and easier access to their bank accounts for their business and lifestyle needs.
