The board of directors of BancNet, Inc., the largest ATM consortium in the Philippines, recently elected Mr. Robert P. Blas as its new president.
Mr. Blas takes over from Francisco M. Caparros, Jr. who recently retired from Asia United Bank and subsequently resigned as the bank’s director in the BancNet board and as BancNet president. Mr. Blas will serve as president in the remaining term from February 1 to April 30, 2011.
Concurrently, he also holds the following positions in BancNet: member of the Executive Committee, chairman of the Project Steering Committee, vice chairman of the Technical Committee and member of the Outsourcing Committee.
Mr. Blas is vice president of Information Technology at Citibank and has represented the bank in BancNet’s board of directors since 2001. He has been with BancNet’s Technical Committee since 1991, also representing Citibank, and served as the committee’s chairman for many terms.
