Protect yourself from scammers.

There have been reported attempts to steal bank and e-wallet customers’ personal information through short messaging system (SMS) or text by pretending to be from BancNet. Please be aware that BancNet does not and will never ask for your personal information. Should you receive such suspicious text or email, please report it immediately to the issuer of your card or e-wallet.
Here are a few security tips to protect yourself from potential risk or loss from scam attempts:
Secure your passwords
  • Create strong, unique passwords for internet banking and other financial accounts.
  • Use a combination of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
Enable two-factor authentication
  • Enable 2FA for added security on internet banking and other financial platforms.
  • Implement additional layers of verification for transactions whenever possible.
Use secure connections
  • Only access internet banking from secure and trusted networks.
  • Avoid public Wi-Fi for financial transactions; opt for secure and private connections.
Keep your software updated
  • Keep all devices and software, including browsers and antivirus programs, up to date.
  • Regularly update mobile applications associated with your financial accounts.
Beware of phishing
  • Exercise caution with emails or messages requesting personal or financial information.
  • Avoid clicking on links or downloading attachments from unknown or suspicious sources.
Access official sites and apps
  • Use official websites or mobile apps provided by your bank for internet banking.
  • Double-check website URLs to ensure they are secure (https://) and match the official site.
Monitor your accounts
  • Regularly review account statements and transaction history for any unauthorized activity.
  • Report suspicious transactions promptly to your bank.
Log out and secure devices
  • Always log out of internet banking sessions and secure your devices with passwords or biometric authentication.
  • Avoid accessing financial accounts from public or shared devices.
Follow ATM and POS security measures
  • Use ATMs located in well-lit, busy areas, and avoid secluded or poorly lit ATMs.
  • Check for skimming devices, cover the keypad when entering your PIN, and keep your PIN confidential.
  • Regularly review bank statements for unauthorized ATM transactions.
POS Security
  • Keep an eye on your card during POS transactions, ensuring it stays in your sight.
  • Verify transaction amounts, securely store or dispose of receipts, and monitor account statements.
  • Be cautious of skimming devices on POS terminals and report any suspicious activity to store management.
Be vigilant
  • Exercise extra caution in crowded places where it may be easier for individuals to attempt fraud.
  • Be wary of strangers offering assistance at ATMs or during POS transactions.
