2025 BancNet Annual Report

PUBLISHED MAY 28, 2026

Digital payments have moved well past the point of being a convenience. For most Filipinos today, they’re simply how money moves, and BancNet remains the backbone making that possible behind the scenes. The 2025 BancNet Annual Report captures a year of remarkable growth, with the network processing a record-breaking 5.67 billion switched transactions, a figure that speaks of just how deeply digital payments have become woven into everyday financial life across the country.

This report walks through how BancNet continued evolving to keep pace with an economy that, increasingly, doesn’t slow down. For network participants, partners, and stakeholders looking for verified data on the network’s scalability and reliability, the full publication is available below.

Here are the key highlights from the BancNet annual report:

A Record-Breaking Year for Transaction Volume: BancNet processed 5.67 billion switched transactions in 2025, a massive 144.39% increase from the 2.32 billion transactions recorded in 2024.

InstaPay Continued Its Rapid Climb: InstaPay transaction volumes surged by 230.50% to reach 4.66 billion transactions, reaffirming the reliability of BancNet's real-time electronic fund transfer system. For many Filipinos, instant transfers have quietly become the default way to send and receive money, and this year's numbers make that shift impossible to ignore.

Near-Perfect Uptime, Even Under Pressure: The ATM switch maintained a flawless 100% average availability throughout the year, while the Real-Time Payment (RTP) switch recorded a 99.95% availability rate. Keeping that level of consistency while processing billions of transactions says a lot about the strength of the underlying systems.

Built to Handle More: To keep up with growing demand, the RTP system's processing capacity was expanded to 1,000 transactions per second (TPS). That upgrade allowed the network to handle over 25 million daily transactions during peak periods without disruption.

A Bigger, More Diverse Network: By the end of 2025, BancNet's multi-channel payment network had grown to 103 members and 93 InstaPay participants, spanning banks, electronic money issuers, cooperatives, and independent ATM deployers. That kind of diversity reflects how broad BancNet's role has become in connecting different parts of the country's financial system.
