BancNet Marks 20 Years of Easier Banking

BancNet celebrated its 20th Anniversary recently with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) governor Amando Tetangco as guest of honor. The governor congratulated the country’s leading ATM consortium for its series of innovations that have made banking a lot easier for bank clients during the last two decades.

At awards rites held at Intercontinental Hotel in Makati City, BancNet honored 5 of its founding member banks namely: Allied Bank, China Bank, Metrobank, RCBC and Security Bank.

Also honored were the consortium’s pioneer officers who have continuously served for 20 years: They are Ricardo R. Chua, former president and current Board chairman; Jose F. Santos, founding chairman and former treasurer; Juan G. Coreces, Corporate Secretary; and Rene S. Natividad, Vice President.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Chua said, “Banking anytime, anywhere is not just a slogan that we adopted in 1990- it has permeated the lives of our countrymen from all walks of life. Whether we want to get cash, pay a bill or transfer money, BancNet makes it hassle-free for us through its interconnected ATMs and other online facilities.”

The 20th anniversary celebration was attended by other BSP officials, top bank executives, BancNet founders and alumni, industry and business partners.
