BancNet recently gave awards of recognition to its member banks with the best performance in six areas of operations. Cited for generating the highest average volume of approved switched transactions from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2009 were: Metrobank (1st), China Bank (2nd), and Allied Bank (3rd). As of end of 2009, Metrobank had 911 ATMs, China Bank had 398, and Allied Bank 280, all strategically located nationwide.
The top ATMs on the other hand, are those at China Bank’s SM City Fairview Branch (Top Onsite ATM) and SM City Manila (Top Offsite ATM) which generated the highest average daily volume of switched transactions from 2005 to 2009.
Awarded for having the highest average transaction completion rate of 99.64% over the same 5-year period was Philtrust Bank while Citystate Bank was cited for having the highest average rate of host availability at an almost perfect 99.99%.
Metrobank was also awarded for posting the highest percentage growth in cardholders using their ATM cards to pay for their purchases.
Philippine Bank of Communications or PBCom was awarded for having the highest percentage increase in the number of its cardholders using their ATM cards to pay their bills.
The awards were given during BancNet’s 20th Anniversary celebration at Intercontinental Hotel in Makati City.
